Our circular office on the 8th floor of the 100 Watt building is nominated to be the best circular work location in the country! Along with the Metal Cathedral and C-Bèta, we’ve been given a wildcard and we’ll be competing with the other nominees at the ABN AMRO Circular Economy Awards. The winners will be announced on Thursday 8 November at the BT Event.
The longlist for the ABN AMRO Circular Economy Awards has already been revealed, and the winners of the wildcards – including Copper8 – have now joined this list. The wildcard nominees were not picked out by the jury; instead they were highlighted by players in the market as important missing initiatives.
We think it’s fantastic – as a real pioneer, we took the initiative to turn the 8th floor of the 100 Watt building into a circular co-working space in 2014. Working with our landlord (Cocon Real Estate), we laid the foundation for paying per work place. Cocon and our architect (Beta Office) then built on this foundation by creating an interior using reused materials from local renovation projects. InterfaceFlor and Gispen worked on respectively the circular flooring and furniture, including innovative circular revenue models.
Our wildcard nomination gives us the chance to follow Circular Friesland and Plug-In-City as the best circular work location and best circular region in the Netherlands.
