As a child, Marijn was already following social developments at the global level, wondering what influences what and thinking about the consequences of certain actions. That system thinking started early, and it characterizes the way he works today.
System thinking comes in handy for other complex things… like salsa dancing, which Marijn enjoys. His general knowledge is vast, and he always wants to be right. He’s an idealist through and through, and in his spare time he develops new ideas, always with the aim of making the world a better place – for everyone, not just a lucky minority.
Marijn believes this is achievable, if we have an economic system that’s no longer based on financial growth, but on value creation instead. In his view, this is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of a sustainable world. Just try and prove him wrong.
