Tijs is strongly driven by working out how to make the world around us a bit more sustainable, always starting with the questions ‘what is possible?’ and ‘how can we take the next step forward together?’ He believes in the power of uniting and connecting people: only together will we leave the world a better place than we found it!

His friends describe Tijs as inquisitive, involved and enthusiastic. He is a creative connector who always thinks in terms of possibilities and therefore knows how to enthuse others. And that’s exactly what we need to get everyone on board so we can accelerate the circular economy.

Thijs is energized by inspiring examples of how things can be done. He also gets a boost from discovering new things and exercising in nature – after a long day at work, he likes to get some fresh air on his rollerblades, mountain bike or trail shoes. But his favorite thing to do is to walk in the mountains, where there’s a surprise around every corner, just like there is with sustainable transitions. But no mountain is too high to conquer together!
